datig is fine, sexual contact in violation of state law regarding "age of consent" is not. If you and the other person are in contravention, he will be considered a rapist under the law just as if he forced you at gunpoint. Even if it is in recent times a kiss.
google is your friend now that you know what it is you are looking for.
Barry C, you are completely wrong!
Most states do not refer specifically to statutory rape; instead they use designations such as sexual assault and sexual verbal abuse to identify prohibited activity. Regardless of the designation, these crimes are based on the premise that until a person reach a certain age, he is legally incapable of consenting to sexual intercourse. Thus, instead of including force as a criminal element, thesis crimes make it illegal for anyone to engage contained by sexual intercourse with anyone below a certain age, other than his spouse.
Statutory rape, or have sex with someone who is under the legal age to consent is COMPLETELY different than rape. BTW, rape near a gun would generally have a sentence enhancement as resourcefully.
Michigan
ยง 750. 520b et seq.
First-degree criminal sexual conduct is sexual penetration with someone under age 13.
Third-degree criminal sexual conduct is sexual permeation with someone between age 13 and 16.
Michigan
The age of consent in Michigan is 16 unless one is an authority figure contained by which case the age of consent is 18.[6]
Any and all of these could apply. Anyone could report it. And, no matter how vehemently you deny anything happen, the boy could still go to prison. Deny it if you must, but be prepared to live it if you do. Known too many people who fell into the trap.

Just to inform--this surrounded by response to someone else who responded--kissing may not be sex, but it and any other petting or touching, or someone even suspecting such, WILL land an 18-year-old in prison and on the PSOR for life. It's call "Lewd Acts with a Minor," and "Seduction;" both are high court misdemeanors (treated as felonies) or outright felonies--depends on who and how prosecuted. Doubt it if you must, but denial does not consitute reality.
There are NO law against DATING minors. There ARE laws against SEXUAL conduct with minors. If you don't know the difference, I will IGNORE your request not to say anything going on for being to young, because you ARE too young for EITHER.
The connection below appears to address what you want to know.
NOTE: Sexual conduct is NOT limited to sexual intercourse.
Jill,
Age of consent in Michigan is 16.
If you are under 16, and your bf is 18 or elder, then any sexual relationships are banned in Michigan. This scenario will gain your bf charged with a Felony. (Kissing is not sex)
If you are 16 & your bf is 5 yrs or more older than you- he can be charged with a Misdemeanor- Criminal sexual conduct surrounded by the fourth degree.
FYI- The term "Statutory Rape" is obsolete. Just going on for every state is using the terms Sexual Assault, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Misconduct & adding a degree to indicate the severity of the crime.
It depends on your age. If either of you are under 16 next the other is at risk of being charged with statutory rape. To have consensual sex you must both be over 16. Otherwise, zilch else really matters. I agree that dating is not illegal!!!!
The amount of sexuall contact to trip the statutory rape trigger differes from state to state
