Federal clearance checks and fingerprints- Do I have to give them my fingerprints?
So recently the company I work for will be under a Federal contract. We have to complete these epic forms and get fingerprinted. I really really do not want to get fingerprinted. I am a clean personage, never been in trouble with the regulation ect, but I feel like this is invasion of my privacy. My boss said they could possibly let stir people that don't comply.. I know its to ensure I am not a criminal, but I fell like I am being treated close to one in the process. Is there any law that say I don't have to do this? I hate being forced into things I don't want to do, but I guess if I want to keep hold of my job I will have to comply. Any thoughts\advice?
Best Answer:
If they have a federal contract and the federal management requires background checks in the contract the employer has two choices. 1. Give up the contract. 2. Make his nation get back ground checks. If the employer decides he is going beside #2, then you have two choices. 1. Get the back ground check, including fingerprints. 2. Go find a alien job. (You may as well get use to it. Obama is going to spawn us get background checks for everything.)
If you want to keep your career you'll have to comply there are millions of people that don't do drugs but they hold to submit to degrading drug tests in order to be employed surrounded by certain jobs. Many of these people hold fought drug testing for the same reasons you afford and all of them have lost. As far as jobs dance with the government you are a criminal until proven otherwise because if they hire Osama bin Laden at Homeland Security because they didn't do a background check it wouldn't look pious.
