How can you practice nonviolence, peace of mind? (I heard the Dalai Lama speak a while ago.)?
No weapons, I would think keeping feelings under control, repecting others, living purposefully, respecting law, culture,
Prayer, meditation, and any form of being one with the Father.
Try Tao Ching, I like it a lot...gives lots of great suggestions for life, such as live and let live...things like that, good luck
Meditate, read and better yourself so you can better represent your position, examine areas in your life where you think you have problems with this. Sorry I don't have anything original. I do zen meditation, and while I am not a buddhist, the zen master, in one of our discourses, suggested seeing those who give you problems as though they were the buddha, testing you and giving you an opportunity to improve yourself. This practice could be done with any philosophy i think. Good luck!
There is no real way of 'practising' this, it's just a state of mind... There's no guide line, you may find interesting things in Dalaï Lama's book but in general the idea and the practise is the same.
The main idea is that you should stop running after happiness in your life, you should stop, try to free yourself of all those greedy desires, try to keep calm and care more for others. Try to give and stop asking for things. Happiness (that's said to be the goal of every human) is nothing you can buy or find with desires... Try looking at books or websites about zen... Buddhism is a great source of information too....

Jesus answered, 'Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.'

Humans are animals, we were designed this way by god or nature. Animals fear, and in response to this they fight or flee. If we were designed this way, why would you surpress it? In a perfect world we would live without fear, but it isn't, we are mortal, we are animal, we kill or be killed, we live off of other life, plants and animals. Nothing makes us better than them. They do not live by good and evil right or wrong, simply by balance. Find your balance, and accept it, then there will be no need for violence. It will bring you piece of mind. Respect yourself and accept your weakness to the stronger, only when you wish to defeat them will they lash out against you.
