Unemployment fraud... what can happen?


So I am on unemployment now in New York State. I am disappearing for Army basic training soon and was told I won't get any settle from them for up to a month. Right now my wife and kids live off my income so I was going to claim for those few weeks.

Dumb move. Unemployment fraud has one REALLY big drawback: you risk being disqualified from collecting Unemployment contained by the future. It's not worth the trouble, trust me.
The Army will make sure it gets paid posterior. Of course, this means you will be less from your pay until it is adjectives paid off. There could also be penalties involved that will entail to be paid.
If you catch caught, you'll have to pay that amount back, beside interest and penalties. The Army won't be too keen on it either and would predictable punish you.
