do you think there should be some law or some liscense to have kids....?
i mean, ANYONE can have kids, but some just arent ment to be parents. if there was some standart test people had to take before conceiving- would that help.
it just bothers me when people have kids purposly who arent ready financially, emotionally or physically.
you have a point there but theres going to be a lot at stake for those who stop people from having kids, no matter how bad or unfit they r to have kids. I mean, its a natural right humans have. Its quite different from having to take driving test before getting a licence. there probably will come such a law in future(distant future i mean) but will have to endure intense scrutinization and countless valid arguments from both sides before some kinda agreement is reached.
no no no, that's not good idea
I am all for a mandatory parenting class before leaving the hospital, but a standard test before conception is a little too 'big brother' for my taste.
I see a lot of parents make choices that I wouldn't, and that's hard to deal with. We are all different in raising our children. I think 3 parents at back to school night is ridiculous though out of a class of 18 kids. I don't believe watching Power Rangers, Rugrats, or Spongebob is appropriate for young kids either, but I wouldn't want them banned.
Well....let's start small. Say paying (forcing) convicted drug addicts/alcoholics/felons to be sterilized.
(sighs...well, I just blew my chance to join the ACLU)
No because then alot of men wouldn't want to be intimate if they have to have kids. And if a woman gets raped, I don't think that she would want to keep the child, especially if she is young. I know because I'm a woman.
hmm no no i dont reallyu think so,u r very mu h right abt ur thought but itz not a right way 2 solve this problem thts wht i think so...
I don't think ANYONE has a right to tell a woman what she can or can't do with her own body. If you feel that way go to a communist country they welcome your kind. Remember Adolf he tried to rid the world of the Jewish people, and what you are asking go with the same rules that he believed. If we don't agree with them kill them off and by not allowing people to have kids you are killing off there line. Samething.
Well, for starters yes I do think it is wrong that so many ppl have kids way before they are ready. But no I do not belive the government has ANY right telling me if I can or can't have kids. I do belive that all expectant parents should be required to attend parenting class before a first time child. For at least four months before it is born. I know first hand what it is like to have a child before you are prepared. But that dosn't make me a bad parent. However, weather it was fear or need...whatever; I did take classes for 6 months with my husband before our little girl came. No one is EVER ready for kids...but when it happens you need to be able to provide a stable loving and safe place for that child. They matter more than anything else.

The government already has intruded too much into peoples lives. But I feel that is because too many people don't govern themselves. If a person acts like a child then they will be treated like a child. Yes, I agree with Kissy that the government does not have the right to tell me if, when or how many children you should have. I also agree that people should take parenting classes. I don't agree with lil_cruzan_23 tho, men will always want to have sex, and she is only partly right about keeping a child that is the result of rape. I was 16 yrs old when I was raped & I have a son as a result of that. I briefly considered abortion but I was raised against it and chose to keep him even though a member of my family offered to take him & raise him for me. I wouldn't trade him for ANYTHING in the world. I was VERY lucky that I had a family that was there to support me emotionally. Yes it makes SOME people grow up quick, but not all. If it did, there would be more mature people out there.
This question overlaps religious aspect.
Having children is a basic human right. To impose a law of some sort that will limit their right to exercise conception is probably not a good idea.
I do agree that some people are not fit for parenting but that's up to the individual/couple to make that decision.
You'd think...
No really, you are right. Many become parents too young. It is mostly due to promuscuity.
For most, though, having a child matures you quicky, like it or not.
