public assitance question?

i get ssi and just found out im pregnant, i got pregnant near the iud and had my period for 2 month and no symptoms at all, i be in shock! well i was not planning this so im going to keep hold of it and love it, i receive ssi monthly and i was going to aaply for public assistance for the baby, do i need to dally when i give birth or can i go now near my proof of doctors letter saying im pregnant and apply? if apply now will they start giving me money for the newborn or need to wait after i give birth, i dont know i of late want to do everything now before anything. i was told that feminine that are pregnant they go apply and receive cash is it for them or for the baby?

It would be better to dawdle until the baby is born because you need to declare who the father is so they can gain support from him instead of the tax payers paying your bills,
