Question about Indictment/Arraignment?
Hey guys, I need help with this give somebody the third degree. I have narrowed it down to indictment or arraignment but the answer is not clear to me. A formal listing of the criminal charges against an individual is called a/an a.arraignment. b.indictment. c.arrest warrant. d.pre-sentence report.
An arraignment is when the detail of formal charges is read, bail may be set, and a plea may be taken. Indictment is a decision by a grand jury that there is sufficient evidence to establish probable lead to that the defendant committed an offense and the case may proceed against the individual. Arrest warrant is a document issued by a court based on probable cause to whip some one into custody. A pre sentence report has to do with mitigating and aggravating factors to be considered surrounded by sentencing.
