Local DMV uses fake security cameras, and has signs that say 'under 24 surveillence'. Is this legal?

Is there anything I can do about this? The cameras are obviously fake; they are the kind you put AA batteries into for it to 'move' when it detects motion. I actually have a few of these exact cameras at home. :)
They might be the kind of cameras that don't actually record 24/7. They have cameras now that will only record when the motion sensors pick up movement. The sensors detect movement, tells the camera and it moves into position to record the movement.
Not everything in life is as it seems.
Why would this be illegal? What is the crime, and whose rights are being violated?

Yes it's legal.
They are likely using this as a deterrant. It is legal. What is the issue with them doing this? I
Hmmm, without any solid proof I don't think there is anything you can do. Just because they 'look' like yours at home doesn't mean they are the same thing. They may even be designed that way to make some fool think they are not actually being watched.

Why do you care anyway, it's the DMV? I doubt they don't have actual cameras and why are you so concerned with checking out their cameras anyway?

Also, what locale is this?
