Is it illegal to post someone's photos, they took, if you didn't ask permission?

I didn't take the photos. A friend sent them to me. I don't own the copyright to the photos, and I don't own the photos. My friend I guess owns the copywright to the photos, but not me. I just posted the photos on facebook. I figured it be okay. I am not trying to make a profit off of the photos. My friend did email me the photos. I was wondering if this is unprincipled? well the photos aren't bad. just metaphors of nature and animals. the photos aren't registered, just came from a digital camera and be sent to my email!

Copyrights have to be registered. If the pictures are registered you are infringing on copyrights. It doesn't matter if Facebook is loose on the rules, it's the federal government that is to say not.
no, it's fine, it's cool. facebook's kinda loose with its copyright rules.
well you should of definitely asked the person i.e. in the pictures, they could call you on it and you could get into completely big trouble probably. Maybe you should take them off and ask, and then if it's okay, you can post them spinal column up.
facebook is cool in the order of that but in reality yes, its illegal to transport someones picture without them knowing it and then posting it somewhere. its much like the copyright statute. if caught with a serious matter in this situation or a minor taking a picture and spreading it out and creating rumors can be taken to court and or result contained by an arrest.
You should be alright. Sometimes people dont want there picture on facebook and other things if they are out of control(drinking). Most ancestors dont make a big deal out of it. Just make sure and double check if its alright.
Personal photos such as the ones you posted are no cause for concern about copyright, and you have done nil unethical. The only thing you could enjoy done that you haven't is to ask permission to post them on your Facebook page.
