A family member ran off the road and hit a tree causing major damage to her truck.?
The registered owner was my brother in law, who passed away two years ago. My sister in law does not have a drivers license, which was why she never registered it in her name. Her 27 year old daughter ran off the road Tuesday night, and it appears the truck may be totaled. The insurance policy was also in my brother in laws name. She is going to try and file an insurance claim. If the legal, registered owner is dead, how can she file an insurance claim? Wouldn't that be fradulent?
okay my mom died a few years back leaving my dad with alot of stuff like cars still in her name. When a person dies according to united states laws then the next of kin can file for power of attorney. If they do this within an appropriate time. I am not real sure how long it is but it can be done but alot of companies I can tell u from experience will look the other way for the spouse
If she was insured on the car i shouldnt see a problem. Although insurance companies are scammers in my eyes. I am not honestly sure. Just my view.
ill see what i can find
maybe this will help
Answers:
depends on the state... mn law states that an insurance company has to cover every driver of the car even if it was stolen... so if you steal a car in mn and you crash it... the insurance company HAS to cover it no ? asked
i need it to
yes....
It appears that she should hope that the owner of the tree isn't wanting compensation. As she has no lisence ,no insurance policy is going to cover her for a collision in which she was driving . It could be possible for her to collect from the insurer , but it would definitely be fraudulent .
NO IT WOULD'NT BE B CUZ ITS NOTHING SHE CAN DO IF THE PERSON IT DEAD THEN THEY WOULD GIVE IT TO NEXT TO KIN
I believe David San An has the correct answer! !
