What happened to ETHICS ?
seems that no one in politics values nouns anymore they all lie, cheat or decieve in one form or another i want to utter i am proud to be an american again
Best Answer:
"Proud to be an American again" When could you ever vote that? Corruption and lack of ethics in politics is nil new. You should read about congress in the precipitate 1800's. It has pretty much been that way from the start. ~
Check out Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin. I think he is always acting in the public interest consistent next to his oath of office. The rest of his colleagues not so much. His counterpart in the House of Representatives is Dennis Kucinich. Feingold has taken unpopular stands because it is the right entity to do, including offering a bill of censure of President Bush for initiating an unwarranted and illegal war surrounded by Iraq based on deliberate misrepresentations. Actually, I supported the impeachment of Bush and Cheney, but Feingold's efforts be a start. They came to naught, and he will never be able to run for any higher department, but he did the right thing. There are too few like him left. When the vote on Feingold's disapprove of of Bush came, Obama stared down at his shoes and voted no. During his political career, Obama has have more than occasional political lapses resulting in actions and votes base on ethics and integrity, but he wanted to be president too much to do the right thing within this case. Ambition is a big problem amongst the most talented of the politicians. The Old John McCain had more than occasional lapse of ethics and integrity, as well, but he wanted to be president too much to stay the course and lose the Republican nomination to Mitt Romney, so he capitulate to the Right, chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, demonstrated that he was unfit to be president, and the rest, as they say, is history, Ambition for the heights brought him low.
Amen, sister!
