How doe's the Miranda rights work for a 13 teen year old?

The Miranda rights only pertain to an adult. A minor's rights are protected by having his parent or guardian present during questioning.
Same way it works for a 14-year-old. The police can't talk to a minor without a guardian being present, though.

Answer:
The same for an adult. However, minors are questioned differently than adults. They need a parent, or guardian, or other type of adult representation with them, and the 13 year old OR the adult can invoke the rights at any time.
