Signing over parental rights?

I live in Florida. My boyfriend and I have a 9 month old daughter together, and he can't seem to be to get his life straightened out so we are no longer together. As of now, he is taxiing and I estimated it out.. he's making give or take a few 2080 monthly. He is only giving me 200 dollars a month for our daughter. (50 dollars a week). I told him today that I don't think that's enough and I told him I'm going to jump to the courthouse to file for child support. He flipped, and told me he is going to sign his rights away of his daughter so I couldn't get any money out of him. Now my question is.. Can he do that minus us both agreeing to it? Does he not have to have a legit reason to sign his rights over? And if he does within fact do that, am I not entitled to child support?
Best Answer:
Even if he does sign over his parental rights he will still have to pay child support. Good thing you dumped the loser because hes evidently not smart.
I haven't researched Florida, but relinquishing ones parental rights (as a rule) does NOT absolve them of financial responsibility. He will continue to pay, parental rights or not. Tell him to get a second commission.
No matter what he think he can do He is forever responsible for the support of his child. Only if you request that he sign his rights away.
He can't sign his rights over unless there is a parent to adopt and take his place, financially. A judge won't allow him to merely get out of paying.
