How much do patent lawyers cost?
I am trying to patent a product and want to know how much it would cost me to pay a patent advocate to write the patent and claims. Does anyone know?

A basic patent survey can run you as little as $500. If the patent may be contested however, the rate is usually in the thousands (by contested I mean the query returns a similar but not exact patent, which will require more processing.)
