What is Osama Bin Laden guilty of?
From the perspective of 9-11 and the USA and KEEPING IN MIND in the USA a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.. what IS he guilty of? If it sounds like a stupid question that is because you do not understand the legal system in the USA. Even if Bin Laden confessed this did not happen in a court of law. And, logically, How many people do you know who would admit to a crime that would cause them to hunted down around the world. Is it possible the confession tapes are fake and Bin Laden had nothing to do with 9/11? Did Bin Laden have CIA ties before 9/11 and was his family given safe passage out of the usa after 9/11? Are we learning yet?
The premise of your question is silly. If everyone is innocent until proven guilty, then in that sense he is also innocent as he has not yet been 'proven' guilty. The rest of your question is rambling foolishness that is also not 'proven'.
Technically he isnt 'guilty' but he is a suspect. He would need to be found and arrested and questioned.
Bin Laden is not in the US. So if he happens to be killed, you don't have worry about what he's guilty of.
guilty as charged! That's if he really was responsible for the 9/11 attacks, but U just never know
With any good grace, he will run in to one of my brothers or sister in Afghanistan, who will give him a quick trip to Allah and your question would be moot!
Hate.
I believe he is at least guilty of growing one of the most horrendous beards I have ever seen. Fashion police, take that man away and teach him how to trim!! And thanks for the two points.
All this fairly logical consideration, seems to me to be negated, through consideration of whether Bin Laden even actually exists, you might just as well suggest that he does not.
If he does in fact exist, then it is not a ridiculous jump to assume he is in fact an enemy combatant, our soldiers are not required to attempt to conduct a trail while they are under fire.
If he is innocent as you suggest, he should be seeking to clear himself through trail invoking the ' innocent until proven guilty ' terms you mention.
I believe the U.S. is open to receiving his surrender.
Probably nothing.
American law only applies in America - just like Saudi Arabian laws saying its illegal for women to drive only apply in Saudi-Arabia, not California.
As far as I know Osama has never been to the US, hence cannot be in violation of its laws.
A country in Africa, Sudan I believe, offered Osama to us (through the CIA) on a silver platter during the Clinton administration. He was known by all to be the leader of a terrorist group -- Al Queda -- but Clinton wasn't interested.
Edit: He is guilty of crimes against humanity. Even if he were not behind 9/11, just ask the thousands left dead in his wake in the middle east.
Answers:
Dude, I have the TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, and nothing but THE TRUTH (by God, it hurts)!!
1) The news tells you what they want you to know
2) Bin Laden is STILL ALIVE and IN PAKISTAN!!!
3) The real terrorist IS IN OUR OWN COUNTRY!!
4) 9/11 WAS A CONSPIRACY AND PLANNED BY THE US
5) It's not 'Innocent until proven guilty' it's actually 'Guilty until proven innocent'. Believe me, I was charged with theft and I WAS INNOCENT, the dumbf***s finally figured it out.
He hasn't been convicted of anything yet, but that doesn't mean he isn't guilty -- just not adjudicated. To start the list, how about mass murder, kidnapping, hijacking, and conspiracy to commit all of the above, and many more things, as well. And, lots of people confess to committing crimes, as in anybody who wants recognition for the crime. He didn't do it just for the fun of it (though reports are that he had a hell of a time watching the aftermath), but he did it to make a point, and it wouldn't have made any point at all if he didn't stand up afterwards and say look at me, I'm the one that did it, and this is why, so everybody do what I say or I will do it again.
If we captured him, I bet he wouldn't even make it to a judge to be charged with anything. He'd be dead before he made it, killed by some soldier who felt it would be better to kill him and deal with the punishment than to risk a Liberal judge letting Osama off the hook.
Good question.
You could make a parallel question about Pearl Harbor.
Japanese planes attacked the US Pacific fleet on Dec 7 1941, at a time when the USA & Japan were at peace, war had not been declared.
So why did the US declare war on Japan? No court of law had charged the Japanese with any crime.
Well when there is a war, that is different from a criminal accused of a crime.
It is true that bin Laden had family members in the USA at the time of 9/11, however there are a lot of conspiracy theories surrounding this. The FBI questioned and investigated each of the family members before they were allowed to leave the USA. They were Saudi nationals. The Saudi government asked permission for them to leave, and there were several levels of US government needed to give the permission.
bin Laden's family had nothing to do with 9/11.
Each war lays seeds for the next war.
During the Cold War, the West, and the former Soviet Union, ran rough shod over the rest of the world. Nothing was more important than defeating the enemy of the time. This meant that all over the world, nations were given reasons to hate the west and the USSR. Well the USSR is gone, but the reasons for hating the west are still there.
When Russia invaded Afghanistan, during the Cold War, and various groups trying to drive Russia out, the CIA supported them, including Bin Laden and his pals.
After the Russians were driven out, the rebels realized they could bring down a great civilization, and decided to do more like that.
Bin Laden declared war on the USA, in 1998.
His organization engineered attacks on many US embassies, and other places around the world, such as the US Cole warship.
I think you need to read the 9/11 commission report.
I think you also need to read some of the reports on the commissions that looked into the Pearl Harbor attack.
Interesting question. I agree with those who say in fact he should be considered innocent until proven guilty but you know the US already tried to kill him when they first attacked Afghanistan. I guess like any suspect he must be considered a dangerous person until he is apprended.
If you are a bleeding heart Liberal, then the answer is nothing because he has not been given a trial and convicted.
However, he has ADMITTED to a number of terrorist acts including 911.
(Cairo, Egypt Oct 29, 2004) and again (Apr 2006)
'I am the one in charge of the 19 brothers and I never assigned brother Zacarias to be with them in that mission,' the voice said, in a reference to the 19 hijackers of 11 September 2001.
A confession makes you guilty.
