What happens to minors after a 2nd DUI offense?
Nephew got his 2nd last night. Hes 19. Just curious as to what happen after the 2nd. His liscense was revoked the first time, but that didn't stop him, lol...Oh I know its probably different in every state, we are in Oklahoma.
I try no to chortle about it, but I hope this kid learns his lesson this time...
Anyone know what happens after the 2nd for a minor?
Jailtime for sure. And he won't have a license for years. He's not a minor, so the consequences will be more severe than if he be.
Also, although juvenile records are often "sealed", in plentiful cases a court can consider a similar prior offense when sentencing on the second.
My guess is that this will be extremely expensive for him in terms of fines, alcohol diversion and driving school, and that he will enjoy his license suspended for several months or more.
He may be able to reduce the charge to reckless driving or some other charge that reduce the sentence a bit, but that will depend on how long ago the first DUI was and other factors.
Don't know why you would laugh in the region of this. This guy needs some serious intervention. Otherwise, alcohol is going to ruin his life.
First sour, he's not a minor. Hopefully, he will do some time. he will go to jail
He will lose the right to drive for years
It will cost him at least 10,000
Tell this child to get up up before he kills someone or himself
Life time sentence to AA, no appeal.
Biiiiiig trouble! Mandatory jail, kiss your licence goodby. And gratitude to the officers who took this idiot off the road !! It will probably get suspended for a year if it didn't evolve the first time. Plus a second minor consumption charge. He might be looking at some jail time too. Maybe probation since it's the second time.
