Should the punishment for one count of rape or kidnapping be the same as murder?
Rape and kidnapping are serious offenses that have a lingering effect on victims for a while and it should be treaten as a serious offense.
However I think that 1st and 2nd degree murder should be the most serious offenses in the law . A victim of a murder cannot be brough back. Usually a conviction for 1st and 2nd degree murder means that that killer did not kill due to abuse or provoking circumstances.
You answered your own question. So what do you need me for?
AGREED
Yes. Criminals would not stop but think before at least before they do it!
Because of this inequity, children that are molested are also murdered to keep them quiet. I believe this would not happen if the molestation and kidnapping charges were lessened.
Don't get me wrong, I hate those crimes, but it might spare some lives if the perpetrators didn't feel it was so necessary to end the lives of their victims.
Yes.
Tough question, but I'm gonna have to respond like this...
When the DNA evidence supports the fact that the criminal actually did the raping, then he should stay in jail for a long, long, time...but, not for the rest of his life!
Answers:
My reasoning is the same as yours. The lingering effects of murder are far worse than the lingering effects of rape or kidnapping (and a lot harder to recover from).
Life for a life, if the people of the land say so.
Kidnappers, rapists, regardless of the age- minimum 21years incarceration and life on parole. No early parole.
yes , but murder is much easier to prove than rape . Many women falsy accuse men of rape . But yes if you can prive to me without any reasonable doubt I would support the same punishment
