Are abortions illegal or legal in the U.S???

My boyfriend and I are having a debate on whether abortions are legal or not. Thanks so much!!
Whether you agree with abortion or oppose it, I infer everyone who can breath would agree that you and your boyfriend are retarded for asking this question, and even more retarded for not simply looking it up (by...i dunno typing in abortion in google or yahoo).

Do you and your boyfriend move about to school. If so, please tell me where so that I can ask my congressman to see that state out of the union. Perhaps we can invade your state, as it is clearly run by morons or education terrorists. Does the glue bottle ever stick to your nostril after you enjoy sniffed it for as long as you must. When you shower, do you remember to take your clothes off and leave your brain contained by? Jesus.

An abortion within the first trimester is universally legal in the US. After that, sometimes there are legalized qualifications, such as the fetus has to be threatening the woman's health, contained by order for the abortion to be legal. These restrictions vary by state.

Roe v. Wade granted that abortion is legal until the fetus is viable (able to sustain life) without its mother. So although the federal law is clear, masses states have issued laws to further restrict abortion, almost always as an intentional provoke to roe v. wade, in the hopes that it will get overturned. Other states have transparently reinforced roe v. wade in their state law, so that abortions will continue to be lawful for them if roe v. wade is ever overturned. When Samuel Alito was under consideration to be a Supreme Court justice, his potential to overturn Roe v. Wade be a HUGE issue that people were having near his nomination.

They have be legal for decades.
Legal since Roe vs. Wade in 1973. But there has be a lot lately in the news roughly trying to ban late term abortions. They are permissible up to a certain date of pregnancy. I want to say 2nd term contained by most states. haha.
