Is doctor a consumer in connection with consumer court cases, doctor verses the medical equipment manufacturer

Three layered consumer courts in INDIA lultimately look for similar cases decided in past by the apex court i.e. Supreme court of INDIA, and if one can provide a similar precedent, one can get the judgement on the similar lines. Hence I am looking for some such precedent wherein, the apex court has considered the doctor practising the profession as a private practitioner a 'consumer', while dealing with a case contested against the MEDICAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER, BE IT AN ULTRASOUND MACHINE OR X-RAY MACHINE OR ANY OPERATION THEATRE EQUIPMENT .

Answer:
It is in the Act itself. Refer Explanation to Section 2(c) vi (ii). The complaint can be for supply of defective goods orfor sub-standard goods or for over-pricing or for not meeting guarantee/warranty obligations. Even a commercial establishment has been held to be a consumer for the limited purposes of warranty/guarantee obligations and for maintenance/servicing contracts.
Yes of course.
