Emancipation is wisconsin?? For Teen Moms?
Alright i will be 17 in september, and i have a little girl who will be 2 in oct. And i want to move out, i graduated from an alternative high school and i have a job that pays decently well. And i heard from people that because im a teen mom that i can move out. my family and i def have issues...They expect me to pay for there debt. I already have to buy diapers and everything for my lil girl. And i would be living with a friend over the age of 18 and i was just wondering if anyone knew about this stuff so i could get some more info

Emancipation requires 2 conditions:
1. you need to have adequate financial resources to be independent (including paying rent, food, expenses for children, etc. without assistance from anyone else)
2. you need to convince the judge that you will be better off outside your home.
Almost all petitions fail on the first point. I don't know about Wisconsin, but I know that in California the vast majority of emancipation petitions are denied. But if you think you really qualify, then go down to the court and get the paperwork.
