Can I help my friends to renew their driver's license?
Two of my friends are out of state now and they plan to come back (I dont know when). Their driver's license has expired and they ask me to give a hand them to renew driver's license. They have given me their SSN, a scan copy of their license. One expired at the end of April and one expired at the end of May. Is at hand any other way that I can help them to renew driver's license? How can I not show up at the secretary of state and still renew their driver's license? If so, how do I do that? Thank you for help. By the course, they are licensed in Michigan.
Don't do it. They can do it themselves when they move to your state. It depends on the state, but usually they have 30-days from the date they move, to apply for a new license and revision the car registration. I am sorry, but I see a HUGE can of worms beseeching to be opened here if you try to help.
If your friends are living out of state for any length of time, they must have gotten reciprocal driver's license in whatever state they are in in a minute. As soon as they did that, it voided the Michigan license ( which they would have had to surrender in establish to get a license where they reside now).
Conversely, upon returning, if they surrender their current license, the Michigan license will be reinstated in full.
A driver's license is a importantly personal item of identification. You cannot reinstate this. The person's picture has to be taken, which means they do it within person only.
Although they maybe friends of yours, something sounds thoroughly fishy here. Back out of this and let them know that they have up to 30 days to renew with no cost, from 30 days to 6 months to renew with retaking the written test over and beyond a year, they start over again with written and road oral exam.
