Was the Archbishop of Canterbury right when he said Sharia Law should be allowed in the UK?
It would legalise Muslim polygamous unions - at present criminally bigamous.
isn't Sharia law that allows honor killings?
If so hell no Criminally bigamous in our culture - not within a large part of the rest of the world, where it works hugely well, thankyouverymuch.
Christian and Jewish Theological laws have be applied in our cultures for decades. Sharia is being opposed largely because it's new.
Sharia Law have some good points to it - the concept of the family having the concluding right to pardon a condemned criminal, for instance. Another interesting concept is the practice of banning interest on loans, which the Q'uran forbids.
I don't think we should adopt surrounded by en masse, but we might be able to incorporate the smarter ideas that Sharia law have to make our own system better.
To the extent that it doesn't interfere with the rights of other Britons, I don't see the problem. It should be given duplicate recognition as any other religion. No. People who immigrate to another country should follow the laws of their new country. If relatives who where born in a country don't like the law there they should immigrate to a country that does have laws they approaching or agree to.
Sharia law is based to paying a bribe to a victim or victim's family connections to avoid punishment.
He did NOT say that it "should be" allowed in the UK.
What he said be that as the Muslim population grows it was inevitable that it would be - different thing altogether.
