Is there a law that if you don't get rural mail delivery at home then boxes at the Post Office must be free?

If there is NO rural conferral available in your area then the post bureau must supply you with a free post office box. At least explicitly the rule where I live ... 92258 area code. If you call the 800 number surrounded by most phone books and talk with the main postal hand you should be able to find out if this is a national practice or limited to certain areas. Peace
The Postal Service in this country is a VERY BAD jape! They tend to make up the rules as they go along. My mail man is too slothful to deliver a package, so he just leaves a notice. I too live surrounded by a rural area. When I called the Postmaster and reported it for the 20th time he told me, "That man is the best worker he is always the first worker hindmost!" Gees, I wonder why? Maybe he doesn't do his job and takes short cuts. More Examples: There was a dog running free contained by my cousins neighborhood, the "poor little mail MAN " said," I could stop delivering the mail indefinitely to the entire block because that "TINY" dog be running loose and it barked at him." The dog was a stray; why would the whole block suffer because of a stray? WHY NOT CALL ANIMAL CONTROL, immediately that's an idea. There is a girl that lives next to my cousin that got a opening at the Post Office because HER DAD served in Vietnam and her mom was from Vietnam??? The key word HER DAD...........! PS............At one point I owned a business and the Post Office would not deliver to any downtown businesses, so we be all forced to rent a PO Box .......You talk about drumming up business Basically impossible to tell apart issue that you are faced with!
If rural mail delivery is not available within your area, (find out by contacting the post master), then you can get a free post organization box at the local or servicing post office for your area. You have to flood out a form every year to continue to qualify but it is a free service.

No. If you want a post office box, it will cost a few bucks a month. You can, however, receive your communication for free. Anyone can receive mail by having it sent "care of broad delivery" to their local post office. They will hold it (usually thirty days) for you to pick up. In fact, it hasn't been that long ago that adjectives rural communities received their mail this way. :)
