Simple question for those against water-boarding?
What methods do you recommend the CIA and other agencies use in order to interrogate terrorists? If you can't use any of these increased interrogate methods what can you do to break the person and catch them to tell you everything they know? I asking a serious question how because I do not see how these people can do this employment now. First of all I was surrounded by the military and is is an informed question. Second I did not say you have to torture a soul, I said how do you intergoate the person. If person A has infomration you call for what do you do to get it. Also, I myself, who has been waterboarded as bit of my training in school have be waterboarded and I do not consider it tortue. You are not drowning the person but only scaring the individual into thinking they are drowning. You are making the person panic. Torture according to me is cutting bad finger, ripping off figernails, shocking a persons balls, ect. polographs don't work, sorry to break it to you thats the movies speaking thats is why they can not be used surrounded by any courts, drugs are a good idea, is that consided torture, i'm not sure but this is what I am looking for a discussion on the topic and besides the whole world uses much harsher methods after we do so get off your high horse if you think this makes us look bad big you are correct, we train our own military and special forces by using these methods on them, and guess what, the terrorist use these methods too to train there populace to resist interrogation also consider that if you don't get the information from the person you are putting american lives at risk, what if it was your own kinfolk, what would you do? as for using the method 183, they got the info the needed 30 seconds unto the interrogiation but since those two were responsible for 9/11 that be more like punishment I beleive Looking over my answers, no one has really answered my cross-examine? I didn't ask what you thought of waterboarding but how do you conduct an interrogation now? Yell at the person, or is that torture too?
Best Answer:
Personally I make them listen to the captain n Tenille, get through pork burgers, must attend and formulate square dances, there is no bible or book reading, lights on all the time and on special occasion they get me to read bankruptcy codes to them in a hawaiian shirt. All kid aside personally I don't disown water boarding but we have to verbs so we will have to be more creative like the Inquisition, another day another interrogation.
Puppies and rainbows. Seriously, do you really think water-boarding is the last trick we have up our sleeves? I'm sure the CIA has a few more gray area tactics that haven't be through the formal DOJ disapproval process yet... And Missy, you should do some research, and volunteer to be waterboarded. I'm guessing you'll tell me all the horrible things you've done. People merely start to make things up once they've run out of what they know. Waterboard someone 2 years after you've captured them, less plausible to get something useful than 2 hours...
Look, if we can't waterboard can we at least bring wager on Sodium thiopental? EDIT: A CIA official admitted that waterboarding produces good information which help prevent a terrorist attack on Los Angeles. EDIT #2: And to the poster that said Bush and Cheney dreamt up waterboarding, you are wrong. It has been used since before the Spanish Inquisition.

It is not a serious cross-question, it is an uninformed one. There is a consensus that waterboarding and other forms of torture do not develop good information. It just makes someone communicate you whatever you want to hear. Do some research and post a question that does not rely on fallacy. There are lots of interrogation technique that are not torture, that are effective. And they do not disgrace us in the eyes of the world. Edit: I am reading your various comments near amusement and annoyance. You are really a twit, you know, pretending your question asks a bunch of laypeople how to conduct interrogations of terrorists. Why don't you go off and ask adjectives your CIA buddies? Oh, that's right, you work at McDonald's, and the closest you ever got to law enforcement is when the security guard caught you jacking sour in the men's room in high arts school! Waterboarding is wrong. And you are a jackass. You are engaging some kind of pathetic Answers Masturbation immediately, and it is not at all flattering.
"If you can't use any of these increased interrogate methods what can you do to break the person and get them to tell you everything they know?" 183 times for one soul in one month doesn't imply that they have be broken. This information tells me that not only is torture illegal and wrong, but it be also useless. Was the 183rd time the charm?
Take a small part of the billions of dollars self thrown out, and develop more advanced technologies for extracting information. The polygraph was developed 100 years ago, why don't we have something much better by very soon?
............... right on bud............ torture me and I will admit to anything .....,. anything you want me to .... agree to .......... does not matter what it is ............ I did it
the Army Field Manual is the first and last word on the subject.
Waterboarding is one method of torture, out of ten that Bush and Cheney dreamed up. This country preaches to the world that torture is illegal. We signed the anti-torture bill with 135 other countries at the Geneva Convention. To answer your question- no torture. Like it or not, Bush and his cronies will be found guilty of period of war crimes. You want us to stoop down to the level of terrorists? You should be ashamed.
This is used all over the world, we even train our Spec Ops. to learn how to last out this, so in the event they are captured while on a mission. Why we are making such a big deal over it I cant make out. I'm sure someone would say we should lead my example but wake up the TRUE world outside of blogs and changing diapers is a brutal world.
Was it torture when we feed the inmates in Guantanamo Bay pork rinds? Or when we they ate BLT's for lunch or bacon for breakfast? They loved the salty flavor until we told them what it was. Was that wrong? Was it wrong when we showed them gay porn for 12 days straight (pardon the pun) and next sent them out for a Gay Pride night parade in San Francisco handcuff to Perez Hilton, Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres, Elton John and Barney Frank? Is this torture? I think torture would mean that we show them hours long speeches made by Barack Obama, over and over again, day surrounded by and day out, all night long until they can verbs them in their sleep backwards and forwards.
