Four bloggers charged with libel, facing $55 million in damages?

Charges of “libel” were submitted for decision in a Missouri civil court in St. Louis Friday. Four participants of the popular “FreeLawAnswer.com ” web site will face 81 tort charges of libel against public figures.

It has been alleged that on at least 81 separate occasions, the unnamed defendants made false statements on the web site against the plaintiffs, including accusations of corruption, abuse of public trust, destruction of public property, making false statements, abuse of power, arson, and murder.

sounds like typical republican garbage. oh, how i pray and pray for firing squads.

show me a republican that is not a terrorist, pedophile or rapist and i will give you a million dollars. these enemies of freedom do NOT belong in this country. pray long, pray hard for the arrests and convictions and death penalty for each and every republican nazi scumbag that infests america.
Well first off, it would be called defamation of character.
If a business is resorting to spreading lies about another spreading false claims in theirr own website to attack and spread false uncircumstantiated claims that negatively affect another business or person, than that is carelessness and should be not tolerated.

There is freedom of speech so long as you are not attacking another person with lies. Be it in person,or be it online it would have the same affect -- aimed at having others think unjustifiably negative towards you -- and it is punishable by law.

So this isnt a lib or conservitive thing -- its a law of this land thing.

Answer:
How can we really complain...the 'people' voted for them. Goes to show how much attention the voters pay to what is really going on! It's like they put more into researching who walks their dogs than who runs their country....also known as their life! Politics suck but where would we be without them!
