Is this illegal or not?
Hypothetically speaking, if one were to send explicit images to someone via the internet who affirmed to be over the age of 18, however is a minor and lied under his/her free will, is it illegal Since the chat session would be documented, there would be written proof that the individual be under the assumption the minor was in reality over the age of 18.

It's still illegal. Just like if you have sex with a minor who stated she was 18. The burden of proof lies on you. Saying she is 18 over the internet is not proof that she is 18. Be careful on the internet.
You are screwed brother. Practice your anal rape now.
It's very, very illegal - not to mention really stupid.
Yes, it would be wrong and stupid on your part.
Oh yea, it is illegal. Get ready for the striped suit. And I ain't hypothetically speaking!
VERY few places allow the defense of 'but she said she be 18'. Is it worth it?
