What is the Difference Between a 20 Year Old and a 21 Year Old(As Far As Being Able To Gamble, Drink etc)?
Why is the drinking/gambling age at 21? Why not 20? What is the difference and why do you think that is the way it is?
its only 21 if the state is involved next to it
i go to an Indian reservation and you only have to be 18 to put money on but there is no drinking
There is no difference. I suppose you have to set a restraint somewhere, though. I think it should be lower, actually. One year in age and the canon.
Its only just a line from one to another, the line has to be somewhere, if it be 20, you might be asking the same question but why not 19. The line have to be drawn somewhere. But i inderstand what you saying, it is a bit odd for the number to be 21 and not another number.
Arbitrary number chosen by the federal government and forced upon the states by threatening to withhold federal funding of projects inwardly the state if they did not comply They need to make the cut off somewhere. If we say-so 20 is close enough to 21, why not go to 19? Or 18? Next thing you know, 12 year olds are within the bar ordering alcohol.
They have to set the limit somewhere. If not 21, why not 20, well if 20, in good health why not 19....it could go on. It is just an arbitrary figure that have absolutely no bearing on the responsibility of the individual. Some people are responsible adequate at the age of 12 to drink and gamble. There are other people that, throughout their entire life, are not responsible satisfactory to drink and gamble. Back in the 70's, the drinking age in most places be 18. It was raised and has not be challenged legally for years.
