Restraining order for a ridiculous case?

My ex boyfriend, who is 19, lately hooked up with a 17 year old girl, who seems very nice and he likes her a lot. They have had sex, willingly on both sides.
Her parents are total nutcases. They are trying to file a restraining order against him, after one day when they saw him hug her. She skipped her first period class to be with him a little while ago and now is under parentally enforced house arrest, they barred her window, removed her bedroom door, and set alarms downstairs.
Pertaining to the restraining order, and assuming they want to issue it because they some how found out that she had sex with him (unlikely that they found out) would the age difference, 2 years, and her being a minor help them in court, or will they be laughed out of the courtroom? They have no evidence of him threatening or harming her, except a note that said he thought they were overreacting a bit.
By the way, we live in Washington State.
Oh no, I ran out of room. Oh well, I was done.
Thanks!
Hello out there.

It is against the law for an adult to have sexual contact of any kind with a child.

The parents can have him arrested and charged with statutory rape.and the law can arrest him for being a child predator.

Good for the parents.

The adult needs to find some women his own age to play with and leave kids alone.
Sounds as if the parents have good reason to be locking this girl in the house. I realize that the kids these days think nothing of having sex with little or no knowledge of the person they're involved with, even if he IS a nice guy. However, the girl's parents are probably distraught, and I tell you, they no doubt realize exactly what is going on, and they have grounds for concern. They don't want to see their daughter as a handy little piece for some young man's pleasure, and what is more, I cannot for the life of me understand that these girls can't see they're being USED! If my 17 year old was up to these tricks, I'd be locking her in also!
The courts can punish him, unfortunately. I think it is ridiculous. If he were 30 and she were 17 that's a different story, but 19 and 17, PEOPLE CHILL OUT! Given sex happened and maybe it shouldn't have but my gosh it is a two year difference, in my high school there were plenty of kids in MY GRADE that were two years older. It's not like he's an adult and she isn't! Mentally they are on the same page, Physically they are on the same page. Chill out to all you making a huge deal of it. Don't act like you have never dated someone younger, or at least been attracted to someone younger.

As for the parents, That's kinda a harsh punishment, but to be truthful, if I found out my daughter was having sex, I don't know what I would do, I never been in that situation.
I think the best thing your exes girlfriend can do...is tough it out til she's 18. I personlly think her parents are overreacting...and he and her should keep htings on the DL til the parents chillax...btw...if he's your ex why are you knee deep in his sex life?

In most states your ex-boyfriend broke the law.

Statutory rape of a minor can be grounds for a TRO.

The girls parents have responsibilities to keep her safe from herself and her own poor judgment.
