Can I get nursing license taken away if?

I got a drunk driving in Wisconsin, I am also licensed in Michigan and Wisconsin
I am not sure whether or not your license can be taken away because you were driving while drunk. I would think in order for you to lose your nursing license you would have to do something wrong in regards to the medical center in which you work, i.e. patient safety, leaking or being careless with sensitive information, stealing meds, etc.
Will depend on your State Board of Nursing. Here in PA - absolutely, and for any other felony charge.

Answers:
Yes,you sure can. You have to report any arrests on your license renewal. It is up to the nursing board what they want to do. Drunk driving might be considered substance abuse in their eyes. They could suspend your license until you prove that you went to some sort of rehab or classes. It is totally up to the individual state. Your state should have a website for professional licensing. It should tell you on there what your license can be taken away for. It should also tell you all those in the state that have had their nursing licenses suspended or taken away,at least in my state they do. Might give you a heads up as to what they did to others in your situation. I was just on my states website to send me license renewal papers. I was amazed at what some people lose their licenses over.
