Fingerprint background check?
I recieved a formal offer letter and have a commence date less than 3 days from now. I took a lengthy phyiscal exam and begin my hep. A and B shots. I am also to take and pass a fingerprint background check.
I scheduled that I had been convicted on my application and for the explanation I simply said "ask in interview" to which not a soul did.
Now I was arrested, plead guilty to, paid a fine and sent on my merry way for possession of steroids(expungeable felony)...4 years ago.
Given that I switch on very soon at my job(a government, county position) will i have it yank away from me when the fingerprints come back? The charge is totally unrelated to the position I accepted.
Good question.
What they hold offered you sounds like contingent employment. They will employ you if you pass a physical, drug examination, background check, etc. If you don't pass they don't have to hire you.
The interesting reality is that you gave full disclosure. I think they can still not hire you even though the interviewer may have missed this put somebody through the mill. This is why they have several steps in the hiring process.
Usually governments do a milieu check and you must pass, but some have been certain to hire a felon.
The fact that you CAN have it expunged does not matter as you DON'T hold it expunged currently.
What is the job? If it's working with kids or money you're out of luck.
How did you get busted next to steroids?
I hope not, but really, only God knows!!!!!!! Good luck, and God Bless!!!!!!!!!
