Is Home schooling legal in all 50 states?
My neighbor who has 7 kids home schools her's here in Ca. who she said have the stricktest rules as any. They are all way ahead of most in the regular schools in the state as they have to take quarterly tests. Some schools allow them to participate in after school sports, some don't. I guess it's up to each school on that one. And they seem to be great kids I've never had any trouble with any of them so I don't think they are missing anything by not going to a regular school. The ones that are old enough are in girl or boy scouts and active in their church. If I had young kids and could manage it that's how I would do it.
yes it is legal....
Answer:
Home schooling is legal in all fifty states, but it requires a large time commitment on the part of the family. In some states parents need to register their intent to home school with the department of education or the local district school board. In addition, many states require yearly proof of progress. States do not provide many services to home schools, though some allow students to attend public school classes and to participate in public school activities.
Yes, it is legal in all states. But, different states have different attitudes and regulations. Check out the Home School Legal Defense Association at www.hslda.org, and click on 'In Your State' for local information.
