I hear everybody talk about Texas law being so tough what kinds of things in texas can the law enforcment do?
In comparison to most other states.
they can kill criminals
I'm a Texan and I don't consider our laws to be tough.
I was born in San antonio and grew up in Lubbock , but i now live in Ark, i dont think the law is that much worse but u can smoke a jay on ur porch in ark,,, oh yeah and piss off the porch...
I have no ikea!
There is good reason, criminals run to Mexico, Our Great State
has not been wussified. Want the Death Penalty, come on down.
We still lead the Country in executions.
in Texas you have the absolute right to defend yourself.
Answer:
I don't know for sure, but it isn't that they have different laws, just stiffer penalties. Where one state may give someone a minium sentence for a crime, Texas is more likely to give the max. Or for some crimes, their minimum might be 6 months in jail, while in another state the minimum would be probations. The laws aren't different just the consequences.
Okay Scanjet---you asked
In Texas there are two 'laws' --- the written law---and the applied law----When it comes to the written law--all of those little ABCs are a great deal the same as in any other state -- with a few exceptions--most notably the use of the death penalty for certain crimes (that's the one most people have the whoop n hollar over)--- and there are a couple of other differences with a touch harsher views of certain crimes here than is shared by some of our more 'crime-friendly ' sister states !!!
The other, however, the applied law is notably different here---- notably different !!! The enforcement procedures here follow the rules laid out by Federal statues to the letter BUT that is JUST to the letter--- in other words-- they ain't leaning a nickel past that line in your favor as a suspect than that line says they HAVE TO --- So, you get your rights--- and not a whole lot more-- don't expect coffee and donuts while they discuss your infraction-- they don't share those with YOU !!!
In the sentencing of criminals in Texas-- as a first time offender you will get some allowances within the system for minimums depending upon the circumstances---but come back thru the system as a repeater and ---- buckle up--- NOW you have a problem-- they really don't need a THREE STRIKES RULE to deal with YOU !!!
At the APEX of the system here is The Texas Rangers---Now you're talking Big Dang Trouble Partner ---- These are the Special Forces of Civilian style Law Enforcement and they are called on when no nonsense application of enforcement is needed !! And, THEY my friend are not subject to any Federal Standards AT ALL----you heard me correctly--- They are not governed by ANY FEDERAL STATUES AT ALL --- it is something within the way that these guys are chartered within the original state's sign on at statehood that left these guys as their own government oversight committee !! They are free to do damned near anything they damn well want AND they don't have to answer to anyone but the governor of the state for what they did or how they did it !!! They are the ONLY law enforcement agency in the whole dang U S A that has this authority !! And, they damned well know how to use it !! I don't know this to be a perfect fact--- but I've been told--- that if they drop you dead in the street--- they don't even have to fill out paperwork on the incident--- they leave that for the 'local dudes' !!
Hope this gives you some insight in the Texas law scene
and, it should be pointed out--- in Texas---as a citizen here---if you have someone in your stuff-- you aren't having to sit around and wonder---should I DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ---OR---AAAAAA I'M Gonna get in trouble myself if I actually_______--- You just get a hold on something and wade into this lunatic and solve the problem at hand and you can expect at least some support from the authorities once this 'dork' has been nailed to the floor !!!!
