What can I do about a mechanics lien?

A contractor apparetnyl did not pay the lumer yard when he worked on the construction of our new home. Long story short, the lumber company filed a lien on our home. The lien was not filed in the stated time frame that the law requires and they stated that it was filed within 60 days on the court forms, but it was not. What can I do to protest or go against this lien? Is their a form I can file with the courts to show my protest on this?
You need to a lawyer, but I fear it is to late. Pay up and next time make sure your contractor has the written reasonable to pay for all materials
You can sue the contractor and if you used a realtor you can sue them to. The contractor can also face charges of fraud and theft by deception. Sorry but the bill falls to the owner of said property, and you'll have to pay. That's the law in America.

Answer:
hire a good lawyer it would be woth the money to save your house two its the contractor that the lumber company should be going after and if they did not file in time then you have a very good chance of having it all droped also find out if the contractor has taken the money and put in thier pocket
Contact an attorney...you are alledging fraud and you will need the assistance of an attorney to go through the complicated issues to win.
