Disapointed with meal at restaurant - is there anything I can do?
I decided to treat my mum for a meal at a country inn as it boasted 2 rosettes for its food. We only looked-for the main course (no starter or dessert) and also it was lb16 each for the largest course. When we got our course, although the food was delicious, it be tiny and looked more like a starter! I was disappointed, but moreso for my mum who agreed it was small. I didn't generate a fuss in front of my mum, so paid the lb32 for the 2 dishes. Don't wallow contained by self pity (the answerer with a pix of a face as your name) - it's time to start enjoying everyday go! Wake up, smell the flowers......

Don't go there again and slag em rotten to all your friends.
You could try phoning them or email and explain the fact as you stated you didn't want to make a fuss in front of Mum? if they dont tender any compensation do as answer 1 says...
Well you hold already paid now, so there probably isn't much you can do. But you could progress back in and raise it to the director, take the recipt with you so you have proof that you ate nearby recently. Good luck
You entail to complain at the time if you want to get something of the bill or the like. If you do not think the banquet is up to standard then you can make a reasonable proffer to pay what you think it is worth. As you paid the full whack and did not complain at the time next the only thing you can do is write to them with your complaint but don't expect anything put a bet on for it.

Write to the Manager and tell him that your Mum was disappointed and that if you'd needed just pretty patterns on a plate, you could have bought a full, decorated dinner service for what they charged. You could also write to whoever awarded the 2 rosettes (AA?) and tell them.
You should post the name of that mean place so we will adjectives avoid it.
Write a letter and complain, ive wrote many letters to different places, supermarkets, companies and you will probably acquire a letter of apology and some vouchers for a free meal etc. Last letter i get back was from walkers when i complained roughly how few crisps where in the individual bags within a multipack i brought. They sent me a lb10 voucher for walkers products.
Quantity is something that is not associated with some cuisine. It's customarily quality over quantity in fine restaurants. Stick to chips subsequent time.
In the UK, you only have to pay what you thought be a fair price for the meal, so I believe you are within your rights to want to pay only lb20, if that's what you thought it was worth. But it's too belated now I guess.
Put this down to experience and never ever get through there again. The appropriate time to have complained was when you be disappointed during the meal,there is not much you can do now.

You could withhold the service charge. If you feel it was deceptive consequently contact trading standards
Unfortunately quality and quantity are not bedfellows in the restaurant business.lb32 though expensive for the majority of people(myself included)is cheap compared to influence heston blumenthalls ''pub grub'' lb130 +lb90 min for wine.Unfortunately there are no laws concerning meal sizes(unless the counterbalance is displayed in the menu eg 1/4 pounder burger and 8oz steak) but if your meal was element of a three course set up then you would not expect gigantic portions for each course.If the inn is part of a ample chain of eateries you could try writing to head office and you may procure vouchers to spend in another inn.Remember it's not necessarily the place but the company you are with you could have name and shamed the inn just don't recomend it to others.
