Regarding your opinion on stem cell research in U.S.?
I am curious as to what your views on stem cell research are. I am doing a debate about whether it should be legal in the U.S. and I strongly support it. I would love to hear what you think about it no matter what side your on! Thanks!
I am for it. The reason Bush won't fund the research is because his religion says it's immoral. In other words, they are concerned for the cells experience. In my opinion, the well being of a nine year old girl diabetes trumps the well being of 150 cells in a petri dish.
Christians are the only ones holding up research.
i also strongly support it. bush and the republicans are idiots for not fudning stem cell research in this country. many other countries do, but not america.
Answers:
First of all I am a doctor and a very religious person (which is becoming increasingly common these days).
Although I am totally against abortion, I Do support stem cell research. Stem cell promises treatment to countless untreatable diseases, and if given the appropriate funding, can really change the face of medicine.
Every day, hunderds of people die and thousands have miserable life because there is now way to regenerate their damaged tissues, The benefits of stem cell research is countless.
In fact some doctors belief that the real power that is trying to stop stem cell research are not religoious people, it is the drug companies who don't want to loose thousands of customers who can get there diseases cured and so wouldn't need to maintain life long medication. And if you thought about is this doesn't seem too far fetched, the so called religious right is letting alot of things pass because there is no financial gain out of it, but they are really stubborn against a no-brainer like this.
