How do you anti gun people answer this question?
Now that I have no gun, how am I supposed to protect myself from criminals who made their purchase via black market or internet????????
If a gun doesn't kill people, but people kill people, as the pro gun argument goes, then conversely guns don't protect people only people protect people.
Call the police.
I guess they want everyone to learn martial arts or something.
Well, if the criminal went to the black market to purchase their weapon, why not do the same thing????
IDIOT - the significance of this is what??? Are you trying to show that by having a gun, you will not be a victim of a violent crime? I have the death of my great uncle to tell you different. He had a gun to defend himself. Know what that got him?
Dead. The burglar shot him when he saw his gun. He didn't have a gun when he broke in, but he had one when he found my uncle's. Yeah. Guns really end all. They are only a sense of false security.
A ban on assault weapons would not prevent you from owning a handgun for personal protection. Why so difficult to understand?
Would you really carry that gun everywhere? I don't think so.
You aren't. Even though they may kill you and take your possessions, they're still the victim because of evil capitalists and poverty and racism and oppression and all that other leftist tripe we hear everyday. Remember, it is us, the average people who work 40 hours a week, get married, join the local league, join the local fraternal organizations, and go to our kids sports/school events that are the 'real criminals'.
And how many of those black market criminals do you encounter everyday? How many people have tried to break into your nice house out in the suburbs? Do you advertise the fact that you have guns around your house so criminals will leave you alone?
You just go on ahead living in fear and thinking you are safe because you have a gun.
is terrible the guns that kid bouth 2 guns in 3 months and is more easy buya gun that a cough medice
Just tell them that 'Anti gun' runs contrary to our Bill of Rights. We have the Right to Bear Arms and if they don't like it, they should go somewhere where guns are not allowed. I, for one, refuse to give up the right to protect my family.
Somehow I've managed to get through 27 years without a gun
In fact I can recall 3 people in my entire life who have owned guns - 2 for hunting and 1 was a police officer. I don't know anyone who has been shot - let alone shot by someone who bought a gun off the black market.
They don't have an answer. And that is part of the problem........
Another terrible shooting has happened and it’s sad for the families and the victims as well as the community and country as a whole.
The real question should not be whether we are safer with or without guns in America but how to identify and control mentally ill persons in an open society. Fact you can not stop a person with intent, if someone decides they are going to kill a person or persons no one or no law can stop them. So if you could magically take all the guns away…would no one be murdered today? Not likely! Before the invention of guns murder still happened, guns have just made it cleaner. Imagine a sword fight to the death, body parts hacked off, guts ripped from the belly. Is this what we want to go back to, medieval times with dagger slashing and poisoned food? Bottom line guns don’t matter either way when it comes to the intent to commit murder, the murderer will find a way, so please stop blaming guns and start putting the guilt where it belongs…on the individual committing the crime.
Answer:
the police and the military will protect you... YA RIGHT!!
My wife and I had a conversation about gun laws last night. She didn't know why people need semi-automatic weapons or handguns with clips.
My response was:
Though, I don't think everyone is responsible enough to own one, I don't believe in taking that right (2nd amendment) away from everybody. The context of the law was written for people to protect themselves not only from criminals and murderers but FROM THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT.
When the government starts taking guns away from the people, one has to ask questions about where the government is heading. If the people aren't armed, the government can turn overnight unapposed.
What would you do if our president, the commander of chief of the Armed forces, decided he would become a dictator. With the people unarmed, he can do whatever he wants to do.
Therefore, the 2nd amendment also protects ourselves from our own government. Sure an 9mm is no match for a tank, but its enough to make a person think twice about becoming a dictator.
Finally, if someone wants to kill a lot of people, there are other ways to kill than a gun. Making guns illegal won't solve anything.
