Is it legal for me to post a video of someone else online?

I have this REALLY funny video of this geek/nerd type guy dancing in one of my college (not a private college) classes. He wasn't aware that I was recording him. I'm pretty sure it would be one of those legendary videos on the internet, but I don't want to get it trouble. Is it legally okay?
I think you should ask him and see if he doesn't mind. He may get famous and money for it, but may be angry and could possibly sue you if you don't ask him first.

Do the polite thing: ask him. If this happened to you, wouldn't you want to be asked first?
It's illegal if he says you can't and you do, I think.

Answers:
Public place, public actions,
post away! Although, if you want to be nice, ask him first.

You have no expectation of privacy in a public place. However, if he was in his home alone and you were at the window, there may be a problem.

Saying you need consent is like saying the helecopters that show the traffic need the consent of every driver on the freeway before they can air the feed.
You can't be serious? This would not be a joke. First of all, you video taped him without his knowledge or consent. Secondly, you want to post it without his knowledge or consent.

If I was he, I would sue you for harrarssment or stalking. It's people like you that make very difficult for innocent folk.
