Am I right to distrust this job recruiter - please answer?

A job recruiter called me on June 10 to perform a employment, and she emailed me the instructions on how to do the job. She also sent me a time sheet for me and the manager at the store I did the work at to fill out. These are the things she did that made me distrust her:

1) When she call me on June 10, she did not tell me it was an independent contracting job.

2) She also did not notify me there was a contract to sign. She didn't even mention it on the phone. She's a senior recruiter, so she knew I be supposed to sign the contract in advance, but didn't tell me ANYTHING around a contract. (I was completely naive and ignorant to independent contracting, until I did research nearly it June 11)

3) I sent in my time sheet on June 11, and she emailed me and told me she would send me the paperwork to get compensated. This is when I learned about the contract - she emailed it to me. (If I would have saw the contract within advance, I would not have taken the job)

I wouldn't sign anything from these people. They want subcontractors so they don't hold to pay taxes or social security. If this little job comes hindmost to bite you in the ***, contact the IRS and let them straighten it out. Believe me, they WILL. I
