what are the chances of if i were to go into a store gas station ect or headshop and i needed to be 18 to purchase something example cigarettes and i was 17 and i showed them my drivers lisense which would state i was born november 20th 1989 would they just assume i was 18 from seing 1989? and if not what could happen could i get in trouble?
Most places that sell things such as alcohol and cigarettes that you need to be a certain age to buy have a calender that reads you must have been born on or before this date - which has day month and year. So it is likely if the clerk does not want to get in trouble or fired they will look at the day and month also. Just wait until you are of age.
You can't get into trouble. If you're under 18 and they sell you cigs, the seller of the tobacco can get into trouble.
Answers:
you wouldn't get in trouble, but the store could suffer severe consequences if the are caught selling to minors, ranging to fines to suspension of licenses. also the clerk that sold the products could face other fines, including losing their job
