Do you consider a 17 yr old and a 14 yr old having sex to be Statutory Rape?

Under New York State Law nobody under the age of 17 can give consent to have sex.
ummm yeah gross
no its only rape if one is older than 18 its just weird now
in new york, yes that's statutory rape. where i live (CA), it's not until the person turns 18. that does seem like too big of an age difference for high school students though.
If that's the law, then it is undoubtedly Statutory Rape. Say Bye-Bye.

Answer:
There is nothing to consider. It IS statutory rape.

Statutory means that it is by STATUTE man! The statute says it is rape, so it is statutory rape!

Your question should be, 'Do you consider a 17 yr old and a 14 yr old having sex to be rape?'
The avarage age of first intercourse is 15,3 year old. 14 years old is pretty close to 15,3 so it isn't unusual I think.
It is not a rape unless she says 'stop' and you refuse it.
But it is against the law to have sex when you are under 15 or 17 years old (cant remember), but no one really cares I think.
I was 17 and my girlfriend was 14 when we first had sex. No problems there...
In Australia its called carnal knowledge and is against the law.
New York State says sex between people within four years of age of each other is legal if one of the parties is below age of consent.
Yes, it would be considered statutory rape in many states.
