Who owns headstones in a cemetery?
Each plot is a piece of land owned by whoever purchased it, to do with what they choose. Since it is a cemetery, the usual thing is to bury a body there, and to mark it with a headstone. Whomever purchases the headstone would own it...but there is a duty owed by the cemetery to the owners to protect the safety of that property from any mistreatment.
The person who got the headstone payed and placed on the cemetery.
the headstones are property of the deceased relitives who paid for them i believe
The person who paid for it. Rights to the grave and property vary based on cemetary easements.
Answer:
The person who is buried in the plot or the family of the deceased buy the headstone. My parents bought their headstones before they died. After they died, we had the monument center to engrave the dates of death on the stone.
After a person is buried at the cemetery and their relatives go to pay for the service, they ask at that time about a headstone and have one placed on the site. The family (either from their own pocket or from the money the deceased has left in their estate) pays for the headstone.
The headstones for cemetery plots is the property of the deceased family or representative. The maintenance and up-keep of the grave site is that of the cemetery keepers.
.The family of the deceased owns the stone ,Or the spouse if
living .
You buy the plot. The Headstone was bought by the people that buried the dead person. I think the cemetary is in charge of Maintainece
The person in the grave. Since it is attached to his grave, has his name on it, I would guess it is his. Agree??
* The family that it is responsible for... my family headstone was purchased by my parents and my aunt+uncle... it is a family plot and all the children living are left to own it and after them it the grandchildren after them and so on.
