I shot my neighbors car?

I was trying to kill this stray dog in my neighborhood but I shot my neighbors car instead. I don't really have enough money to pay for it. He doesn't know it was me as he is at work and I don't have a job right now. Should I tell him. I think he will get really angry. He's black.
i can't stop laughing. you are ridiculous! you don't kill a stray dog with a gun dummy, you use poisoned dog treats or raw meat. just remember not to leave them out at night becuase that will attract zombies, leprahcauns and goblins.

This reeks of a setup (white unemployed redneck type, tries to shoot innocent stray dog, uses racist phrasing). In one question you have enough to anger the animal rights activists, the anti gun activists, the racial equality activists and the neocons who think anyone without a job is a complete and total loser.

why would you want to kill a dog? and don't be racist thats not nice. i would tell him, all the guilt would get bottled up inside of me. get a job, and soon. tell him you'll pay the damages.

Well you know what - it's karma for you - you shouldn't have been trying to kill a dog, if you hadn't you wouldn't have shot the car and you wouldn't be in the **** you are now - I hope your neighbour finds out. Why should he have to pay for your screw up?! Be a man and own up to it.
What does him being black have to do with it. You did something stupid now you want to play the race card. You're lucky you didn't shoot someone. I hope when he finds out he sues the hell out of you.
Of course you should tell him. You owe him money. You have already broken one law, by not reporting it you are making it much worse.
As a gun owner, you should know several basic safety rules, and you violated one of the big ones:

Rule number three: Know your target, and what is beyond.

You should not have taken the shot.

Why didn't you call Animal Control? Why did you want to shoot the stray dog? Was it an immediate threat to your safety? (hint: if it was not, you should not have been shooting at it!)

Did no one hear the gun shot? No police ever came to investigate? What happened to the dog?

You realize in most populated areas, it is against the law to fire a gun at or towards vehicles/dwellings and within the limits of a city? I don't know where you live, but if you live in a city area, you committed a serious offense.

What does your neighbor's skin color have to do with anything?

Here's what I, a responsible gun owner, would suggest you do.

1) Unload your firearm, now.
2) Sell it, and the unexpended ammunition, immediately.
3) Give the money to your neighbor, with an explanation of what happened, and an apology. If you cannot accomplish step two, consider selling the gun and ammo to your neighbor as payment for your stupidity.
4) Learn from this, and never do something so stupid ever again.
5) If the police come to your door, don't further your predicament by lying to them. If they don't come to your door, consider turning yourself in.
Well I suggest you don't try that again!! try being honest with you neighbor no matter what race he his. We are all the same on the inside. Tell him it was an accident and say you were trying to kill the dog. Ask him if you can do anything for him, mow the grass, pick up his papers, clean his closet, organize the garage, clean his car, or anything else. Also ask you parents if you can do anything for them to try and get some extra cash to help pay for the car. Ask the man how much the repair would be and tell him that you will try to make that much money by a certain date. Also try to go to the local grocery store and find a job as a bagger or something like that. You can also ask your neighbors for chores they need done and try to put signs up around the neighborhood and in the newspaper. you can also try having a garage sale to try and make some money. hope this helps!!
...Well the fact that you actually admitted that you were trying to shoot a stray dog is enough to get you in some deep doo-doo...come up with another story before you tell him.
Yes, you should tell him and explain that you will pay for the repairs. Leave a note saying that on the car if you are afraid of his initial reaction.

And you really need to go do some target practice if you shot at a dog and missed.
1.) You don't shoot stray dogs, you call 911 or Animal Control and have them come take care of it.

2.) You don't shoot your gun in public, that's a felony.

3.) You shot your neighbor's car, that's also a crime.

Just tell him, let him know about your situation and either he'll understand or you'll get what you have coming to you.
You best fess up, because you have already have a HUGE problem! If he finds out it was you and you haven't report it, it will get even bigger. It is illegal to shoot dogs and it is illegal to discharge a firearm in public. You better start talkin'.
I think you should give him your gun and then tell him. If he doesn't shoot you, he can keep it for collateral until the car is fixed.
Please get a job and get rid of the gun. Obviously, you have no idea of the repercussions and responsibilities of possessing one. Use your time wisely instead of waisting it at shooting stray dogs!?! Get out of the house and move..be creative and productive. Peace.
why does being black automatically make you mad. If it was me I wouldn't tell him unless someone saw me. He will call the police and you will get a pretty heave fine for discharging a gun in city limits, not to mention you will have to pay for the damages to his car.
