Should Eddie Murphy be punished by paying double the amount of child support for publicly denying fatherhood?
DNA test shows Murphy is Mel B.’s baby daddy
The he said/she said appears to be over as a rep for Melanie Brown has confirmed to People magazine that Eddie Murphy is the father of the former Spice Girl's baby.
Results of the DNA test taken by Murphy on June 11 were reportedly received by Brown on Thursday.
'He's the baby's father, it's official. The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his,' a source told People. 'There was no doubt in people's minds anyways, least of all [Brown's]. It wasn't a surprise to her. She knew all along.'

Denying paternity isn't a punishible offense, or there would be a LOT of daddies paying double support. The court will determine the support amount, and if Murphy is a real MAN, he will step up to the plate and be a father to this child.
I suppose that Mel B. could file civil suit over his denials, but I strongly doubt that she would be paid any damages.
perhaps he should be put in prison and then the baby will not get any money
no if u pay more than u don't have to pay next month
No, and I am trying to get that image out of my mind.
no. if we ignore all this tabloid junk,it may go away. it all makes irrelevant things news. btw there is no 110% in paternity,i doubt there is 100%
Yeah sure, Murphy and every other guy who has every done that. Good luck getting even the normal payment out of most of those guys!
Or are you suggesting that he get different treatment because of who he is, not because of what he did?
Eddie Murphy has to pay up regardless, but as for Mel B she is not a teenage woman with child cast onto the streets in some Victorian melodrama, she's a Leeds born fame hungry gold digging predator, who over the age of 30, had a future that looked pretty bleak, what with her millions going down the pan along with her popularity. She only seems to get involved with guys that can be a help to her career, Murphy, Peter Andre, movie producer Stephen Belafonte, Max Beesley, the female film executive Christine.
She's using the Murphy/baby situation to her advantage with the media and I doubt if she gives the information away for free, also she only had to look at Murphy's track record to see he's not a reliable partner.
Eddie Murphy should have made Mel B have a blood test to see if she had received fertility treatment before entrapping Murphy, which she probably did to ensure pregnancy from the actor, who just happens to be a millionaire.
Sorry, there is not such thing a punitive damages for denying fatherhood; they have the right to a paternity test.
Now that the tests are conclusive that he is the father, she has the legal right to pursue child support against him.
Answers:
No. But he should pay ALL he owes.
Well... I still feel like if you make your bed... YOU gotta lay in it! While I don't feel that Eddie should have to pay for the lost time in child support, I do hope that he realizes that he needs to be apart of the people lives that he brings into the world. Everyone says that Mel B is (u know what) and a gold digger, but I feel that Eddie should have done his homework. People are always scheming (that's apart of life), but that doesn't mean that you have to fall into their traps! Eddie apparently wanted to get his freak on (raw), and now he has to pay for the consequences of his actions. And it AIN'T gonna be cheap!
With everything going on out there, Eddie should be happy he just got a baby...
