I'm 16. I want emansipated. I work a minimum wage job. I go to school. what is there to do?
My parents want to kick me out of the house. I have a place to live with a friend. She have an extra bed room. She works at the same place I do. The only problem is they don't want to be legally responsibe for me if I "screw up". So they want to bring back me emansipated. What can I do??
Best Answer:
Grow up and stop acting like a retard. Maybe your parents suck, or maybe it's you. Either way, if you work like the adult then you own nothing to worry about.
You must first learn to spell emancipation. You can apply to a court for an order of deliverance and demonstrate to the court that you have the financial ability and mental and emotional old age to be independent of parents without help from anyone. You will not meet that standard.
Petition the courts and have your parents attend and express their wishes. If you give more details about what is going on and what state you live within I may be able to give you other resources and other people that can backing.
It depends on your state for exactly what you entail to do. In my state, your parents would have to file a petition to the court, including information on how you will be able to support yourself (where you'll live, how you'll earnings for food clothing and medical expenses), and why they want to go through with it. The court will then enjoy to determine if it's in your best interest to grant you the rights of a legal grown.
Learn to spell deliverance. The laws vary from state to state. http://topics.law.cornell.edu/wex/table_emancipation
You backfire to say what state your in so your question is pointless. Laws (if any) on deliverance (correct spelling) vary by state. Some states do not even have a statute. Min. wage job will not come across requirements for self support which is required for emancipation. In short it ain't going to happen.
