A four year old bill i got sick couldn't pay last year was granted ssi for a disability. Court papers not in
name, but they keep serving me, once i pay an attorney and take him with me, the courts will change the name on the papers to my name right? My guestion is once they see i've only got ssi $670.00 a month will they still take my money?
Why do you keep posting the same question everyday?
They cannot take your SSI,but they can freeze your bank account if they get a judgment on you.If your SSI payments are directly deposited,it will go into your account and you won't be able to get to your money. You'll have to go to court to have your bank account unfrozen.
You know the bill is yours,so just pay it.
Lets see, you admit owing money on a 4 year old bill and yet you say the papers being served are not in your name.
Something is fishy here.
You owe the money and the creditor will collect it...they will take it from whatever funds you get... This can also effect your SSI payments. SSI could reduce your payments and send the money directly to the creditor.
The best thing you can do is call the company and make arrangments to start paying a regular amount towards what you owe them.
Answer:
If the papers are not in your name, you aren't served.
