Why is it sex offenders must be registered but not murders?

Wouldnt you want to know if a convicted murderer is living near you or your family?
Sex offenders have a very high recidivism rate. Meaning that they are more likely to repeat the offense.
I would indeed, but I live in Texas where murderers mostly stay in prison.
cause sex offenders have more chance to repeat their crime, it is also highly rated all over the world.
Most murderers are locked up with little chance for parole, and pedophiles get a slap on the wrist. But thats gonna change soon. Another point is most prisoners dont like pedophiles and they usually get their a ss kicked in prison. We need to get pedophiles locked up, they are sick in the mind and cant be reformed.
Yeah I'd want to know if a murderer was living near me....but chances are the murderer is going to have life in prison or the death sentence so I'm not too worried about a murderer living by me but a sex offender, well that's a different story. Sex offenders have to be registered because they have a problem and sometimes it can get out of control. Kinda like alcoholics. they have a problem and can't control it. So in order to keep children safe (since they are often times the ones hurt) as well as others the police departments and government likes to keep tabs on these people. That's why sex offenders are not allowed to be within a certain radius of a school. Sex offenders are out there and not in jail because their offense may not have been enough to keep them in jail. So they must register to keep kids safe.
I hope this helps you.
because the legal system is fuckedddddddddddd up!!! how bout the people who go to prison for stupid shiot and they let off murderers and rapists, and child molesters etc.. do you know that some child molesters get a littlle slap on their hand. I bet if the judges daughter was molested it would b a whole different story!!!! The law is very corrupted!!! I figure there is only one person 2 make any decision and everybodys day willlllllll come!!!!
MURDER is a whole different animal than being a sex offender , murder has a lot of different reasons where sex offenders theres only one ulimate reason there own sick twisted pleasure in what ever form .But murder again has different reasons crime of passion greed etc..... Normally the people who murder just to murder are kept behind bars for life
because the penalty for murder is execution or life sentence.... everybody knows where convicted ones are... in prison..
Because politically it is popular to be tough on sex offenders. Also such persons are more likely to offend against children. Not all so called sex offenders are equally bad, if you are caught urinating in public you might be convicted of indecent exposure and have to register.
Child molestation should be decriminalized - that is reclassified as a psychiatric condition that requires the offender to be locked up until they are no longer a danger to the public, which we all know never happens. Otherwise they get sent to prison for 5 or 10 years and actually serve 25% of that.
A lot of murders r accidental.Unless the person is like paul bernardo or a serial killer I wouldn't care to much. They can b reformed sex offenders can't.Big difference in just that alone. My uncle who played for the toronto argonauts n many other teams for 10 yrs ended up in jail for manslaughter. He was in a bar with some friends n a person recognized him but started picking on him.The guy who was half my uncles size started a fight with my uncle my uncle still sat there n let the guy hit him. Then as the guy walked away he through a set of keys at my uncle n hit him right in the face well he stood up n kicked him 1 time in the chest n the guy collapsed. Was brought to the hospital n 1 lung had already collapsed from the kick to the chest n 2 days later the other 1 collapsed so bcuz it wasn't on purpose or pre meditated he didn't get charged with murder he got manslaughter n 4 yrs n jail.He would never go out n purposely hurt someone. All I'm trying to say for someone like him it wouldn't b fare to bring up the past but for someone who did on purpose yes I would definitely want to no.

I suppose there are two reasons. Firstly, many murderers, certainly here in the USA do not get out of jail, ever. Those who do are guilty (for the most part) of second degree murder. Their crime is still serious, of course, but if one has been convicted of killing an adult, it is not as urgent that society knows his (or her) whereabouts. They can also be rehabilitated. Often, their crime is one of anger or passion. Murderers can reform. In the 1970's a murderer trained as a minister and there was much debate over whether he should be ordained. He was, on the grounds that he had repented and changed his ways, so he could offer a unique perspective to his parisioners.

Sex offenders on the other hand (by which I mean the real predators, not the 18 year-old that gets caught in bed with the 17 year-old) are very hard to rehabilitate. In fact, my wife, a psychiatric nurse, feels it is impossible. Society needs to know where they live.

The sad fact is that local law enforcement is often overwhelmed in keeping registers up to date. So they have to prioritize. I think it is right that sex offenders should be actively traced rather than murderers.
On average most murderers are not released to the streets and spent most the rest of their life in prisons. Death row or lifers. While again some are executed for their crime(s).

However bleeding hearts for the sex offenders (like the murderers) believe and have the court system believing that it is far better to release them then have them cruelly wasting away behind the prison walls. So they'll release them into your neighbourhood, cities and counties, but not their own. Or even to go so far as to ban them from their state - to which they have to move to another state and become someone else's problem.

If they were follow through on the actions their bible has instructed them to use as a deterrent to others - which is 'All murderers, rapists, and kidnappers re to be put to death. For if these things are done those types of crimes will cease to exist among you.' Simply put - if all of them were executed - they could not return to do the crime again. And if anyone else thought they were going to do the crime and get away with it all they needed to know was that the others before them didn't and they would not be excluded. Still it would cure the problems of over-flowing prison populations.

And yes I know you religious few who have not read your bible completely - God does say 'that there will be innocent ones caught up in this - but just as Christ will judge everyone on 'judgement day' - God, himself will make it right for the innocent.'
