Employment?
I was fired for 'falsifying documentation.' I was never shown evidence. I believe the allegation came from another individual who gave false information.
Could this be considered slander and the individual who said I falsified documentation be liable, if there is no proof to back up the claim. I was never shown the proof. I really have no idea what documents they claim were falsified. The only mention of false documentation came from the above-mentioned individual but I have proof that she is wrong.
It is possible...but you better be pretty sure you did not falsify a document or that it could be seen as you did it. You need to contact an employment attorney in your area. But if you challenge this in court and they show sufficient proof not only can they countersue you...you could be subject to criminal penalties...but if it is false then good luck to you.
Contact their corporate offices... specifically the human resources department. I wouldn't say it's slander, but depending on where you live, you may have grounds to file a lawsuit for wrongful termination.
Answer:
Go back to your employer and find this out.
Ask what documentation was falsified.
Keep climbing the ladder until you get your answers.
Don't worry about slander right now, worry about fixing the wrong that was done.
File for unemployment in the meantime.
This is very vague, you could have falsified info. on your application for all you know.
Ask the source before you go further with anything else.
