Do you think I can get a failure to obey a stop sign charge off of my record by appearing in court?


I was on my way to get brakes done down the street from my house. I be literally 2 houses away from my house and got stopped for failure to obey a stop sign. I be not speeding. I had a coupon in my possession for a discount on brakes. I put in my sports car to get serviced within 10 minutes of getting the ticket and have my getting for new brake pads and rotors. I know for a fact I braked to stop and if I did not come to a complete stop it is because I be on my way to get my vehicle serviced. I mean how can she prove this. This is merely her perception. In my feelings, I did stop. If it was the fact that a glided a bit and did not come to a complete stop while trying to stop, that was my brakes.

not stoping because you are going to find your brakes fixed is not an excuse but if i were you i would go to court because many times the cop wont even show up for the trial or he/she wont compress out all the proper paperwork and the ticket just gets dropped
You didn't stop because your brakes needed servicing? That's your defense? You didn't stop. That's against the statute. You can take traffic school if you want to keep this ticket past its sell-by date your record.
The court would see it as "you should hold serviced your vehicle prior to your brakes failing". You are responsible for proper maintenance of your personal vehicle. There is no way to prove that you were on your process to the mechanic to get it fixed. If the courts allowed this case to be dismissed, everyone who fails to stop at a stop sign will speak that they're brakes are failing and they're on their way to the mechanic. The only way to hang on to this from going on your record is to try and reduce the ticket in court. Good luck.
well if your brakes were that discouraging to where u couldnt come to a complete stop then the courts r just gonna relate u that u should have had them serviced and your lucky u didnt get a ticket for malfunctioning brakes. u could of endangered not only your life but also tons of others.
