Suing an international website?

Hello, Way back towards the end of December, I ordered a product from a website in hopes of providing my girlfriend a Christmas offering. I noted that international order could take about a month since the grant would have to be "crafted". Around March, I received one of the two items I had ordered. I inquired about the second item numerous times and other got the response, "We will be receiving a shipment from our manufacturer's by the end of the week." After a couple weeks I finally get a response stating they item was out of stock and would no longer be restocked. After another while they finally agreed to give me a refund in 14 working days. Those 14 working days are long gone. I have since gotten a BS response of, "We'll chase it up with our accounts." That was on 5/27, and I hold not gotten a response nor answer to my calls. Is there any action I can pinch to get that money back? Legal even?

See if this country has a version of the Better Business Bureau and threaten to report them. Also, alert your credit card company of this scam. KEEP CALLING, writing and emailaing ang keep a copy of everything! If you can clear an attorney to type a letter to them explaining your quest for legal action next to their letterhead on it so it looks official. That could scare em.
Probably nil you can do about it. How much did you lose? That really is the factor to consider if you are seriously considering retaining a lawyer from that country to represent you. If you used a credit card, you may be able to take them to take care of it. If it is a couple hundred dollars or so, I'd just be more vigilant about who you purchase things from online. It is a brilliant place to shop but it is also ripe with scammers and crooks. At least you get something from them.
If you bought online and it was an international company you most probable used a credit or debit card. Dispute it with your credit card company or issuing bank of the debit card. Show them copies of the emails and they will make a provisional credit contained by your account for the outstanding amount, while they investigate and try to recover the funds.Even in the event they can not procure the money back your provisional credit will turn permanent and you will have recovered your funds.
