Should Texas pass HCR 50 that affirms that Texas claims?
sovereignty under the tenth Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government ? http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/12227/ Right on Leon, I need all states would do this. Rick Perry is awesome.

In theory reiteration of the constitution is unnecessary because it is already the state-of-the-art law of the land. However, how things should be isn't how they always are. In some ways it might be a well brought-up bill, however, I also wish the federal government would take a more live roll in states like Texas in some areas. I need the Fed would come in and legalize gay marriage and marijuana (with a 18+ age parameter of course) in all 50 states.
Can't find done fast enough in my view! We've got one similar here in Georgia and several other states do also. It's time to drive a steak through the heart of Fedzilla!
As a Texan, I grow hoarse apologizing to the civilized world for our political "contributions" of recent years. The resolution mode nothing and solves nothing, except to expose supposed leaders' lack of kindness of federalism and of sovereignty. It presents as simple a federal system that is complex. States have always have the power to decline federal funding (and, with it, federal controls), but that would mean huge tax increases inside the state. Even Perry is brighter than that. Restating the Tenth Amendment is unnecessary. Evidently, Representative Creighton (R-Conroe), the author of the bill, has found little support in the Republican majority Texas Legislature. This resolution has be stuck in the State Affairs Committee (burial ground for useless bills) since February.
Yes, ASAP. And so should every other state pass one of those.
If Missouri don't get off the pot and obtain theirs out of committee I may start thinking about moving to Texas or Georgia. Our sovereignty bill has been contained by committee since February and I can't get a word out of my state rep. And he is a neighbor. The last time I talked to him, he said he wasn't on that committee and couldn't explain to me a thing, yet his name is programmed as being on it. Guess what? Next election, he has lost my vote.
I am proud of Texas- proud of Perry- & seriously thinking about moving to Texas!
